Accounts Payable Specialist

Overview:
C.J. Hughes Construction is looking for a Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing invoices, maintaining financial records, and supporting day-to-day accounts payable operations. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to contribute to a team that values accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Enter invoices, bills, and payment information into the accounting system with precision and attention to detail.
• Verify, reconcile, and maintain accounts payable transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment inquiries.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and support financial reporting.
• Maintain organized records and ensure data integrity across accounts payable processes.
• Identify process improvements and support other accounting or administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Clean Background check and Drug Test
• Have a Valid Driver’s License
• Proven experience in accounts payable and data entry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Position Details

• Job Type: Full Time
• Pay: Hourly $18-20
• Expected Hours; 40 hours weekly
