ESA is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This is a full-time, in-person role that supports day-to-day accounting functions and assists with financial reporting and internal control processes. We welcome applicants ranging from early-career accounting professionals to those with a few years of experience — this role offers meaningful room to grow, with a path toward higher-level accounting positions and opportunities to work across ESA's subsidiaries.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, solid Excel skills, and a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Position Details

* Job Title: Staff Accountant

* Employment Type: Full-Time

* Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

* Location: In-Person (75 W 3rd Ave, Huntington, WV 25701)

* Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience

* Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/ Corporate Controller

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (required)

* 0–3 years of accounting experience (candidates at all experience levels within this range are encouraged to apply)

* Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

* Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

* Ability to work independently and with a team

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and post routine journal entries

* Perform cash reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

* Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting support

* Help maintain internal controls and support audit documentation

* Provide minor accounts payable assistance as needed

* Maintain organized financial records and assist with clerical duties

* Complete other accounting-related duties as assigned

* Assist with all other duties assigned
