Quality Control Professional Job Description
CJ Hughes Construction is looking to hire a Quality Control Professional to support projects in the transmission construction group. Quality Control (QC) Professionals ensure the project will meet quality, safety, owner and regulatory standards, at completion. Details, analytical thinking, and industry knowledge are key skills needed for the job. Listed below is a brief job description of duties and assignments as typically required by CJ Hughes, Inc.
· General tasks:
o Assist in completing and compiling required documentation per the job
Scope and Client requirement.
o Assist Project Management, Superintendent and Foreman in verifying Operator Qualifications for applicable employees.
o Assist in validation of Welders and Welder Qualifications
o Coordination with the CJ Hughes Project team during construction and manufacturing.
o Communication with customers and other third-party representatives as required.
o Travel to and from CJ Hughes project sites, customer locations, and other travel as required.
o Any additional duties required by CJ Hughes QA/QC Director.
· Shop and field Quality Control Functions:
o Complete and monitor Material tracking and receiving.
o Communicate and document damaged materials received.
o Assist Quality Control Department on Document collection and review as needed for turnover packages.
o Assist in training new QC Professionals as required.
o Track fabricated spools and maintain red lines as required.
o Monitor Fabrication acceptability tolerances.
o Assist and maintain Heat and Weld mapping when required.
o Complete daily inspections and any Customer documents as required.
o Monitor SOP’s and Revision compliance.
o Communicate and/or generate internal nonconformances (NCR) as needed.
o Assist in Corrective Actions with NCR’s.
o Assist and maintain welding logs, repair logs, and mapping as needed.
o Assist and maintain MTR’s, Red lines, and mapping as required.
o Assist in training functions as required by Company or Client.
o Assist Field crews with equipment calibration when needed.
o
Assist Project teams with Pressure testing plans and documents.
o Assist in Process improvements within the QA/QC department.
o Participate when required on punch list walk throughs.
o Participate with Project Teams during Client Audits, when required.
o Participate in Teams meetings as required.
o Utilize Blue Beam when required.
o Conduct internal random audits when needed.
o Assist project team in closeout documentation sign off.
o Perform other duties assigned by supervisor to support team operations and project success
Preferred Experience Competency:
o High School Graduate
o Pipeline/Facility experience preferred
o CPWI+V or CWI (preferred but not required)
o Computer skills with Excel, word, GoCanvas and Blue Beam
Salary: $40 per hour
Per diem: $125 per day worked when away from home
